Every Party Needs a Pooper : There is a party-like atmosphere surrounding the "truce" announced the Sharon\Abbas summit. Yet it seems as if we played this game before.....Yes America, its time once again to play, “Who Wants to Make Mid-East Peace?”  your Government’s favorite board game. It has been a long time since we played… so let me give you a refresher course on how the game works. . .  Each round starts with a Palestinian leader renouncing terror.  Well Sort of.  Remember Oslo? Recall those promises to remove the call for the destruction of Israel from the PLO’s charter?  Ever wonder why the destruction of Israel is still in the PLO charter eleven years later?  The reason is that a key part of the opening move for the Palestinian leadership is to convince the US it wants peace, but to use fuzzy language to provide an “out.”  Abbas for example has called for the end of attacks on Israeli civilians, but when push comes to shove, he knows that most Israelis have served in the military so there are very few civilians.

Israel and The Media

The Health Crisis Caused by Arafat's Death: Whacko News Syndrome:  The Father of modern terrorism is dead and the media is tripping over themselves to make him a hero.  Is it bias ? or are they just suffering  Whacko News Syndrome?

Groundhogs and Human Rodents: On Thursday January 29th, 11 people were ruthlessly murdered in Jerusalem by a homicide bomber who as it turns out was a Palestinian Policeman, yet when I opened the paper Friday morning there was no reference to the victims just a picture of the killer, later in the paper was a nice little reference to the fact that Groundhog Day was only three days away. Punxsutawney Phil makes it into the paper and so does a picture of a mass murderer,  but the victims of the bombing remain nameless and faceless

Don't Blame the Press: The press isn't trying to be biased against Israel, they are just trying to save a little money in a difficult economy.

I'm Switching From Fox News To Nickelodeon....no more news. Gilligan's Island reruns on TV Land, maybe, but news no. I can't take it anymore. The more I watch, the more I upset I get.

 

Terrorism

Prophet School sometimes a public figure make as statement that seems so very absurd, so way out there that it makes you wonder if maybe it is true. Such was the case last week when Yasser Arafat stood in front of the Palestinian legislative council and admitted that he has been a bad boy, using as his excuse, "even Prophets make mistakes" Does Arafat really believe he is a messenger of G-d. And if he is...where did he go to prophet school.

Making Better Prisoners  It finally happened ! Usually, I assume that the press coverage of Israelis going to be biased and unfair.  Sometimes during my morning, commute into the city I begin to display knee-jerk reaction, angrily muttering to myself , just from reading headlines.  But no more!  Today an important lesson was learned.  There ARE  cases where the press can be right about its Middle-East coverage.

Yasser Peacenik....Fox got the idea for Joe Millionaire from a long running European show, a program that is also based on the premise that someone is not who they appear to be -- it's called Yasser Peacenik.
